Security Savings Bank - The George Office

The George State Bank was organized in October of 1934. It was housed in a building formerly occupied by the First National Bank, on the corner of Main Street. In February of 1964, the bank moved their operations after acquiring and remodeling the next door building. The new quarters provided an expansive lobby with six teller stations, customer waiting areas, increased Safety Deposit Box services, overhead music, and air conditioning. George State Bank purchased the former John Deere building, and converted the area into a bank park and employee parking in 1975. The second remodeling project was completed in 1984 when the original corner bank building was razed, and the bank expanded it's stucture to the north. In 1984, the drive up lane was added on the west side of the bank, and personal computers were implemented. In April, 2007 the George State Bank merged operations with Security Savings Bank of Larchwood and Inwood. Today the bank's knowledgeable and friendly staff places their customers first and is "Meeting the Needs of Communities We Serve".
